Beach Trip

The low down on our trip... not the greatest but a good adventure. It was cold, rainy- even had hail on the day we drove down. Aidan cried pretty much the whole way there and most of the day until he let loose two poops then he was a happy boy. He was up most of the night- not sure if it's the 3 eye teeth he is teething, his mini cold, or different surroundings. I learned that my daughter talks in her sleep more than I thought she did and she grinds her teeth. We were excited to get Aidan in the pool until we saw a sign that bascially said kids still in diapers cannot be in the pool. BUMMER. Abby went in for a bit- she can't get her ears wet until she sees ENT next week.
When we were at the outlet mall she was holding my hand and walking a bit in front of me and said something like "Dad, I'm walking the dog." Now, how would you take that????
It was nice today and the kids got to do what we came there for- play in the sand!

First time flying a kite. Lasted not even a minute. She said, "Dad I'm all done"

He was dumping his crackers in and then tried to eat them. GROSS

May I have...

a chunky monkey please? Ok so we are on the road this weekend and eat out at Burgerville. A few times I have at one point called each of my children 'chunky monkey.' You know how they get those full little bellies that are so big you almost have to lift it up a bit to get the diaper off? or their little fingers and toes are soooo chunky... anyway I am ordering and I order a chunky monkey. The lady obviously does not get it so I repeat it. She says "you mean a chocolate monkey?" Ok FINE whatever. We are spending $28 bucks to eat here and it's the ONLY drink on the menu with the word monkey after it. Does it matter if it's chunky or chocolate? I really did not say this to her but I thought about it afterward- out of humbled embarrassment. I am surprised that A) Rick didn't move away and pretend he didn't know me or B) that he would have handed over Aidan saying "here's your chunky monkey lady"
If you haven't had a CHOCOLATE monkey. It's yummy- chocolate, banana and apple juice frozen yogurt smoothie. Go get one after you read this.
Side note- Aidan has a 101.5 fever. We are supposed to leave for the beach on Tuesday and I'm a little anxious over what is to come. It's out of my hands but a part of me is thinking here we go again...

Once Upon A Horse

We went to Once Upon a Horse today so Abby could ride. She was supposed to do this in June with Natalie but that's when the kids were sick so we had to reschedule her. She rode about 5 times, 3 different horses, brushed them, fed them carrots...

Family Day

I almost forgot this was Rick's Wed off. He went in for a meeting this morning and then we had breakfast with my Mom. After Abby's gymnastics class we headed down to the Enchanted Forest. On the way back filled up with gas- was shocked $3.96. That's considered a good deal. Sad.

My Little Girl

I love Tuesday mornings. It’s when I take Abby to school and it’s just her and I in the car and I get a little bit of time with her all to myself.
Me: do you want to review the days of the week
A: no
Me: do you want to do the month’s of the year
A: no
Me: I talk about them anyway. I get to October and say what is in October?
A: My Birthday!!
A: How old will I be?
Me: 4 years old!!
A: Then will I be growed up?
Me: Not quite
A: When I am growed up I am going to college to be a nurse
Me: That would be wonderful, you would have a great job
A: Someone will teach me and I can practice at home. Then what happens?
Me: Well you would work… or you might get married and have babies of your own and be a mommy
A: I don’t want to be a mommy. I just want to be a Grandma. I don’t know what mommy’s do
Me: What do you think mommy does?
A: Well you go to work and I go to school

Where did the weekend go????

Does anyone know if you are supposed to tip the car seat installer guys at Seagal's?? We've been there so many times getting the seats installed and flipped around and I never know. We went there today to get Aidan's seat turned around... I just have no idea???
My husband made a yummy dinner of steak and lobster tonight... a very rare treat in this house. This weekend was filled with the usual cleaning, laundry and ironing along with Sunday errands. Our only day off together and it goes fast. At the kids' school there is a requirement for 'volunteer hours' and they vary based on the days your kids attend. You can either volunteer or sign up to purchase items they post throughout the year. I signed up to buy some books for Aidan's class so I figured we would pick some up in the 'bargain' books at Borders. We went this afternoon and hit the jackpot- they had a BIG sale and had books for $2.99-$3.99 I was even able to pick up a few as Christmas gifts. We even stopped in and had our first Gelato. YUM. Hit our new remodeled library for some books and then let the kids play in the water.
