So Long February

This week.... Got a mammogram. Dryer broke. Abby's Sick. Cooper graduated from puppy training class.

Rick came home from work at noon on Friday and worked all afternoon to fix said dryer. Abby got slammed with a 102.3 fever and nasty cough. Cooper can sit, down, and stay. Missing church again due to sick girl. She can still give me a smile and be bossy to her little brother though :-)

"Mom, when Coupy goes to heaven will he see Mawley?" I'm not sure what made her ask/think of that because it's not like she reads my blog. I love the thought process in children.
I spent ALL DAY cleaning house, including laundry and ironing. That sums it up.

We missed church today due to Abby catching Aidan's cold. This is the 2nd time where we've had to miss church and Luis Palau was speaking!! arggghhhhh. She coughed so much she threw up in bed last night (happens often). Plus, she's had (ahem) diarrhea since last Wednesday. I'm pretty sure it's from swim class. No one else at her school has this issue. She had her first "Parent's Night Out" on Friday. Their school offers this every few months for $20 a kid you drop them off at 6:30 and pick them up at 11. We've never done this, one because they are there all day and I don't want to miss a moment once I pick them up and two I don't want to pay $40- not that I would because Aidan would cry the whole time if I even considered leaving him there. Long story short, a lot of her friends go and she's been asking because 'you get to go in your pajamas, eat dinner, play, watch a movie and stay up late.' Let me tell you, it was weird staying up that late waiting to pick her up. Rick and Aidan were already in bed...It was like getting a glimpse of what it's going to be like when she's older and over at a friend's house or what have you.
Anyhoo... look how HAPPY the boy is. After two days of completely crabby tantrums there is his beautiful smile.
I made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and we heart shaped pizza dinner followed by chocolate dipped strawberries. STUFFED. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I have tomorrow off... thoroughly enjoying an extra day as a family. Ashley is coming over in the afternoon to watch the kids so Rick and I can go on a run together without pushing a 65/70lb stroller. It will be kinda like a date...

and... Valentine's Day 2010

Date date cancelled :-( It's ok though... on the bright side, we're saving money by not getting massages (although we had gift certs), eating lunch out, and seeing a girly movie. I KNOW Rick is really upset over missing the movie. Minivan is in the shop today too for the torque convertor. Whatever that is.
Dr called this morning and said to give Aidan nebulizer treatments twice a day through the weekend. We dropped his Valentine cards off this morning at least! We took him to the dr yesterday after I got home from work- his heart rate seemed really fast to me and I was concerned about pneumonia. When you have an asthmatic child you tend to listen to their chest a lot and watch their rib cage/stomach area for signs of distressed breathing when they have upper respiratory viruses. Normal heart rate is 110-120 his was 132. She said it was high but not alarming high. I was able to get a few smiles this morning out of the sick cranky lil guy.

oh...did I mention we booked a trip to Maui.

I don't know what it is about Valentine's Day but every year now I feel a little anxious...

2007- Abby became really sick and after 3 days of trips to the dr she was diagnosed with Rotavirus. 2/14/07 she received IV fluids. I will never forget standing in the waiting room openly crying with a towel over my shoulder because of her vomiting and her being so lifeless in my arms.

2008- Ok not as dramatic but I went to the eye dr on 2/14/08 because it felt like something was in my eye/head. You know, like a self-diagnosed tumor. Turns out it ws the start of very bad cold/virus turned into ear infection.

2009-Mawley became very sick. We said goodbye on 2/16/09

2010-Well... we have a date day planned for Friday but I stayed home with Aidan today. He's with fever and a bad cough which activates his asthma.

Valentine's Part I

What a week! I've been cleaning, cooking, baking, laundry folding, running, and list making since early this morning and it feels soooooo good to sit down. Normally I spread out the house cleaning but I wanted to get it DONE in one day so I can have a day of rest of tomorrow. I need it cause.... I got 20 miles in this week. WOO HOO. Lots of 5am morning runs AND 3 days of running twice to get the extra miles in. No reason... just figured I was close so why stop at 16 when you can get 4 more in on a Saturday. Looking forward to Church and Super Bowl tomorrow.
Super Bowl = Pizza = No Cooking = Truly a Day of Rest :-)
We toured Horizon Christian and have another appt Monday to see the campus that is K through middle school and then most likely will go back that evening for open house. The high school is where the 'day school' is, mixed blend of kids ages 3-5 which is what we toured. Thursday I ended up leaving work at noon with a migraine that made me sick... came home and slept until 4:30. Friday leaving for work/school Abby somehow managed to fall out of the minivan and hit her head on Rick's car floor jack. Photo below.
Valentine's Day is a week away so we started early. Abby LOVES Valentine's Day so we made Red Velvet cupcakes and heart shaped cakes today. She also did her Valentine's cards for her class party on Friday.
