Go Hawks!!

We're just plugging along. Kids didn't have school Monday for MLK. Work was meh... Kids don't have school tomorrow. I have an appt in the morning so Rick is going in late to work so he can watch the kids and will bring them to me at my work when I'm done. Nice short week they had. Plus Aidan had a field trip on Tuesday and Abby had pajama day today. Not much learning going on. Weekend is another birthday party for Aidan to go to, gym, church, and bball. Still praying for no flu and no tummy bug.

Back to the Grind

Last week everyone was back to work. School. Homework. Piano. Gymnastics. Basketball. We do so much better when we are in our routine. Praying multiple times a day we do not get the flu. Aidan was at a birthday party last Saturday and the mom offered to keep him after since Abby had gymnastics. I was able to have some one/one time with Abby and took her to the library, out to lunch and to Justice. After gymnastics we picked up brother and had a low key rest of the day watching the Seahawks and finishing laundry. Sunday was church and Abby was invited to a friends house for the afternoon so we dropped her off and then Aidan had a basketball camp. We are now in basketball for the next 9 weeks. Abby went home with another friend Monday after school. Social calendar is filling up. I am in love with baked oatmeal. Abby put my coat on Sunday. Little stinker is sure growing up. Got groceries today after work. Cleaning house in the evenings to free up what little weekend I do get.

Weekend

Extended weekend. I took Monday and today off except that we went to my work yesterday late afternoon and I worked some last night and this morning. Sigh. I've been in a bad space lately so trying to get my groove back. Yesterday we went to Slappy Cakes, Mt. Tabor park, Ikea, Columbia store, lunch at Helvetia. Today the kids went back to school. I think it will be good for us to back in our routine. Although I have to say this stay at home mom gig today is FABULOUS. I slept until after 6, dropped the kids off, 4 mile run, worked a little and I can do laundry, make dinner, prep the rest of the weeks dinners and lunches and I don't have come home from work today and RUSH until 10pm to get it all done. One of my working mom friends recently said,  "just think how much better mom's we would be if we didn't work." So true. I wouldn't be stressed all the time, or rushing them and there would be TIME. Time to be in the moment. To actually SIT DOWN and play or just listen to them. Everything is in these stolen little increments of time and I just take what I can get. Needless to say I am SOAKING UP TODAY.

New Year

2014. I don't even know where the time goes. I must be in la la land half the time. We aren't much for NYE. I left work early to start on cleaning the house. We had pizza, rented a movie, and later parked it on the couch with popcorn. Today we made Beignets and I finished cleaning the house. We also did our first run of the new year :-)  Took the kids to the park after they rode bikes because they have been housebound and going bonkers. Out of control. Back to work tomorrow and Friday for me. At least the house is clean.
