Summer Week 11

Last Sunday we headed out at 6am for Sunriver. Stopped in Sisters for the famous pine cone donut and had lunch in Bend. Monday morning up early so I could work and the kids made sun catchers although hubs got roped into working on Abby's. Then we rented a canoe. That was not a hit with a kids. Between Aidan's anxiety and a bee in the boat with Abby in hysterics I doubt they will ever step foot in one again. Took them swimming after and then to a museum and into Bend for dinner. Tuesday left at 6am for a day trip to Crater Lake got back early enough so they could go swimming. We were lucky enough to get tickets for the 930 boat tour. One, because all the online reservations were sold out so we just took our chances and two, one of the boats had mechanical issues so they cancelled the afternoon tours. The kids did great on the 2.2 mile trek round trip. Going back up hill was rough but they were amazing. Wednesday morning took them on a quick bike ride before heading home. Went by way too fast and not enough time!! Could have used another day of bike riding and swimming. Was nice to get back early enough to make lunches, do laundry, make dinner and have hubs mow the lawn. It's a lot of work packing for everyone and meal planning  and food prep so we don't eat out as much. I'm not sure it's classified as a vacation for Mom. Back to work Thursday and soccer practice in the evening. Friday they had a field trip to Safari Sams. Nice short work week. Today was more meal prep for the week. I'm delivering a meal on Tuesday and there is soccer and school supply night this week and I definitely need to fit in a Barre class.  Abby had gymnastics today and we took a trip to the library. Sad we are upon our last week of summer break.

Week 10

Last Sunday I had Sunday school duty- only 2 kids so we took them to 1st grade for worship and then took them to Kindergarten for their lesson. We've been taking the kids bike riding in the evenings so I get in extra miles running next to her. I finally hit a 20 mile week. Haven't done that since June. Aidan is officially riding 2 wheels on his OWN. Yayy. Monday, Abby's best friend and her mom came and picked her up for a play date. She texted me some pictures and I immediately caught a glimpse of them as teens. Hubs brought the kids to visit me at work. Abby's body is just rock solid from gymnastics. Sister's got some muscles. Aidan started soccer practice this week Tues and Thurs. My mom took us to dinner after his soccer practice on Thursday. Nice not having to cook :-) Kids went to Enchanted Forest for their field trip at daycare. Today we ran a few errands, and met my mom at the mall- she bought them school shoes and more clothes. I am so humbled by her generosity. We are blessed.

Week 9

Last Sunday after church I had a lunch reunion with my high school cheerleading coach and teammates. Tuesday the kids had dentist appts and Tuesday night Aidan had a bday party to attend at the park so Abby rode her bike & I ran along side her in the 100 degree heat. Hubs used the new Traeger on a turkey.  It was also national neighborhood night out at the park where the party was so the kids got to sit in a police car. Wednesday I took off. We decided to only do 2 days of daycare for the month of August to save more $$ so I took the other 2 Wednesday's that Rick has to work. I did some house cleaning and took the kids to see Turbo. Aidan came down with a doozy of a cold a few days earlier and told me his ear hurt. I kept checking his temp and he seemed fine. At the movie I could tell he just wasn't feeling good so I was able to get him a late afternoon appt where it was confirmed he had a double ear infection. Thursday they went on a field trip to a theater and a park and Friday they went on a field trip to the Aquarium. Saturday morning neighbor girl's birthday party- pony riding in the cul-de-sac! And our gymnast was promoted to Level 4/5. Need to mop floors, get clean sheets on the beds and make dinner. The to do list is never ending.
