Week-ending in what??? Pictures!!!!

My life is all about time management!! No further comment. I survived a full week of work, 5am runs, swim lessons, grocery shopping, list making, cleaning house every night and month end reports.
This week... Abby mastered the art of tying shoes. She's a lefty just like me so I've been working on it with her. I had a gift certificate for a pedicure so I took her with me for a little girl time.
And since we've got our first loose tooth I picked these up at Etsy. They look so incredibly easy to make but who has time? They were only five bucks.

Abby Speak

I recently gave Abby a quarter and she's been pretty intersted in who is on the front and what is on back.
Abby: Mama, are some of the Presidents dead?
Me: Yes
Abby: So when they die they just turn into rock?

Somewhere along her 5 year journey she's noticed Mt. Rushmore....

Weekend/Sunday Funday

Saturday the kids and I just stayed inside, I felt horrible about it but going outside just makes me miserable. I love summer and all but I have allergies. I take Claritin and it wears off early afternoon. I might go back to Zyrtec. I have a prescription for Allegra, I took it for one day the side effects were awful. Any other over the counter and I am asleep with in 15 minutes.
So...I made fresh Pineapple and Mango Salsa, Italian Meatballs for Meatball/Mozzarella subs, and assembled the overnight marinade to make Butter Chicken tonight.
This salsa is guaranteed to give you canker sores but soooo good.

We have a no running rule in our house but the kids don't listen. Kids, afterall, run EVERYWHERE. We have a very dangerous bed with sharp corners. It makes me nervous when they come barreling in and trip and ALMOST smack it. I'm afraid of them knocking out their teeth on that thing. On Friday night, Aidan of course was running and ran smack into the corner moudling of the pillars in our dining room- it knocked him flat on the floor from the impact. Lots of blood since head wounds tend to be gushers... we called my mom to see if she thought it needed stitches. This is why he has the nickname Bumpy. He's earned it.
Sunday Funday Rick and I both got up at 5am and ran. Him outside, me inside. We went to church, satisfied my 3 week Krispy Kreme craving, went to a Farmer's Market, watched Daddy use the pressure washer (Aidan has been asking all week), finally bought some hanging baskets, went strawberry picking and more bike riding/practicing for Abby.

The Curious Mind of a 5-Year-Old

Will we see Mawley in heaven?
Will we see each other?
Are there earthquakes in heaven?
Is there fire in heaven?
Do I need my bible?
Will I see God?
Do I just need my bed?
Will we be in a house?
Are there Ninny's in heaven?
Is heaven a whole different world?
Is there bees in heaven?
Can you see flowers?
Can you live a whole new life?

I wasn't kidding

I left my purse at work today. It's Friday. The keys to get into my building are in my purse. I am without my purse until Monday morning.... where oh where did my head go??? Thank goodness for all the help my husband provides. I cannot work full time and DO. IT. ALL. Can you imagine the state I would be in? I'm already looney. The diary of a working mother... and it will just get crazier.
My camera is going to cost $215 to get fixed. Apparently it's a known problem for the shutter to just go out... the pressure washer bit the dust so we replaced that, I dropped off my wedding ring set to be re-plated and yowza that was $171 (was told it was going to be $85). On to the dog... we decided to get him a summer hair cut, the shedding is unbelievable around this house. I will go to work and find dog hair in my oatmeal. Dog cost us $77! Yes- SEVENTY-SEVEN DOLLARS-bath, nails, his hair cut and then the furma-gator thing they had to use. I'm telling you, I am in the WRONG business. I need to get myself a dog grooming certificate/ license pronto. What a rip! So I guess Cooper got a spa day. Well Happy (early) Birthday pup! I think he looks a little silly, Rick loves it and Abby says he looks like a poodle.
This is the first 4th of July in 5 years Rick will have off! We have no plans but it's so nice to get a weekend together. They are few and far between. The kids finished their 2nd week at the new school. Abby loves it. In fact she proclaims she loves school more than weekends. I think it's because they go on field trips which has caused great anxiety for this Mama. She's been to Ibach Park, Hillendale Park, Air and Space Museum, Omsi and Lake Oswego Arts Festival. My nerves are shot...I think I would feel differently if she were older but she's FIVE. Look at me trying to justify my neurosis. My friend Colleen put me in my place, stating "last time I checked your name was Mom and not God." Point taken. Thanks. There are only 10 more weeks of field trips but who is counting :-)

It's Official

I have completely lost my mind. Be afraid... be very afraid. I'm thinking we need to switch the kids college savings accounts to my new assisted living/memory care home. My brother-in-law Mark notified me that I sent Rick's Dad's Father's Day card to him... instead of their dad.
So this could be one of two things, early dementia or I just can no longer keep the pace. I'm thinking it's dementia. I may or may not remember you the next time I see you, which may or may not be a good thing. I apologize in advance.
Perhaps I can blame it on the stressful week... yeah that's it. The kids started at their new school. Wednesday was rough leaving those crying, scared little faces. I sobbed (ugly cried) all the way to work. I came down with a man-cold on Tuesday and had that going for me. We had the garage sale to prepare for and by we I really mean Rick because I was too far gone into my man-cold to help. Have you seen the man cold? Look up man cold on you tube and then you'll know what I'm talking about. I had 9 miles in by Tuesday morning and then got sick...I was able to squeeze out another 3 on Thursday but my husband left me in the dust- he ran a whopping 20 this week! I'm sure you are used to my run on sentences by now. I have no times for edits. I guess I should have disclosed this back in 2008.
Garage sale was good- they are never fun but it's nice to have a little extra cash. We did two half days which is about all I can take. We took the kids to see Toy Story 3, picked up more library books and went to Lakeshore Learning because Abby loves doing those workbooks.
Getting to the most important part of the weekend, Father's Day. We were dressed and headed out the door to church when I came down with unbelievable stomach pain. It's the kind of pain I get when I eat shrimp (which I no longer eat). I went upstairs and laid down for a little over an hour and then made brunch for him plus Ash was coming over. So instead of going bowling like he wanted, the day was spent just hanging out at home. I ordered take out and he had to get it. Ha! It was so nice to have 3 days off together.

My camera died after I took this picture of Abby and Ash :-(
So I'm afraid no blogging photos for awhile... it's going to the repair shop.

Sunday Funday (Sorta)

Went to church, Aidan emphatically says I cannot work in his classroom ever. again. After church we went to urgent care to get his cough checked out. After that sinus infection he had last month, he started coughing again almost 3 weeks ago... no other real symptoms unless you count CRABBY. We were there for over 2 hours. Sigh. She didn't hear wheezing but his O2 sats were at 95% and since he is asthmatic they did a neb treatment to see if maybe he wasn't pushing enough air to hear the wheeze. After the treatment, still no wheezing (yeah!) so... we are trying a stronger antibiotic. I know.... not a fan of this but the kid needs to get better. Good news about spending all moring at urgent care is Grandma was working.
Came home for lunch, Sunday paper, and Aidan and I took a nap. Then it was outside to pull weeds and clean the patio.... and sneeze my head off.
The downstairs phone is missing. Rick mentioned putting me in a home again. I don't know where I left it. It's probably in the garbage.
Garage sale next weekend- lots to get done this week. Please pray for my anxious heart as the kids start their new school this week and Abby will be going on A LOT of field trips. That alone makes me nervous. Pray for Kyron!!! Pray for a break in the case...

In the blink of an eye...

We went from this

to having her first loose tooth

I mean seriously... I cannot take it. I was brushing her teeth on Friday morning and I noticed it was loose and I started crying. She says, "stop it mom or you'll make me cry." It's been an emotional week. Kryon is heavy on my heart... I just well up. The kids had their last day at their school, which in most cases would be no big deal but it's a GREAT school and after three years of establishing relationships it's hard to just uproot and move on. All Abby cared about was whether or not I got Hudson's phone number :-)
I took Friday off because the kids had no school- we ran some errands. It's nice to have an extra day with them.... this mama needed it.
Aidan doesn't like to ride his bike, he doesn't want to try to pedal. He is lazy stubborn. While I took Abby out to ride her bike last Monday after work, I came home to this contraption. He rigged his bike up to be stationary, taped his feet to the pedals and my son looked like a hamster going nowhere.

Sunday Funday

Today was my first day working in the Sunday School class... it was so much fun. Although... Aidan cried because he didn't want me there. Talk about rejection! He's sensitive to routine and if it's 'different' it throws him for a loop. Needless to say, he wouldn't participate, clung to my leg and then gave me the stare down during the worship songs. I asked him if I could come back and he said No.
I thought it would be fun for the kids to make their own pizzas again for lunch today. Can you tell who had the most fun??? I know right?? I wonder if his arms will be sore tomorrow.

and just because... we are still in awe of being blessed with a boy.

...and these are the days of our lives

cue music....
I started the week in a big slump. So big I didn't get off the couch on Monday or bathe for that matter. Pathetic I know...I'm blaming the weather. I finally put it in gear around Wednesday and got the house clean and hope to have my 15 miles in by tonight. Friday morning I woke up feeling sick to my stomach and it lasted all day. I left work early... I have some sort of tummy bug...had the kids fed and bathed and put them in bed with me at 6:30.

Rick keeps getting on my case about putting the cheese in the freezer. I can't help it. I also found the can opener in the dog food drawer. I told him it's just going to get worse- we should probably start looking at assisted living.
The highlight of the week was winning a $50 gift certificate to Munchkin Designs. (link on my sidebar). I went to grade school with the owner and we reconnected on Facebook. She has cute party favors, gifts, jewelry, bags, clothing and my favorite- chocolate milk straws!
Tomorrow is my first day working in Aidan's Sunday School class. Wish me luck :-)

The Happy Couple

Well here he is... her first boyfriend. The one she has professed her love for the entire school year and claims every week she is going to marry.
