Same 'Ol....

Kids had a half day Friday so I left work early so the daycare bill won't be so high. Got started on house cleaning/chores before gymnastics. Saturday was laundry and all day cleaning house and going through as much as possible. The annual neighborhood garage sale is early this year and I forsee many late nights trying to get it all ready. Spring soccer is done, one more football game and baseball has been cancelled for 2 weeks due to the weather so it's been a nice break. Sunday was church and FINALLY seeing Nick and Ashley's new house. My uncle has taken a turn for the worse so we went to visit him after that. My cousin texted me last Thursday about how his weight continues to drop, he knows the outcome of this, and he's not ready and he is always close to tears. Breaks my heart for these two men. Sunday Aidan either had a bad cold or allergies or his asthma. He threw up in the afternoon and then scarfed down dinner. Slept with us because he was coughing nonstop. I did the bathroom steam treatment, his inhaler, saline spray and a humidifier. Nothing helped. He HATES cough medicine but I was desperate so after some Delsym he finally settled in. Rough Rough night. Up at 4 with the dry heaves. We were barely functioning Monday. We met Grandma for breakfast and then to the mall so she could outfit her grandkids with new shoes and summer clothes. What a blessing. From there we went to my Dad's. I know. Shocker. We've been estranged for close to 2 years now so it's a step... Today I have a horrid sinus headache. Allergies? Cold? I had a dr appt this morning and then ran a few errands before coming to work. Rick had a tile guy come out to measure our master bath. We have carpet in there and want to replace it with tile. We have another guy coming this afternoon to give another carpet estimate on the rest of the house. Took almost all of the princess stuff out of Abby's room. I bought these two prints off of Etsy awhile ago to save for her 'bigger' girl room so I am working on ideas to redecorate her room around this theme. I also took this picture of her when we were at lunch on Sunday. I honestly do not know how she went from Age 2 to this in a flash.

More Celebrating...

Fabulous weekend. My first night away from the kids... yeah LONG time coming. Abby is 8 1/2.
Saturday we had photos done and had a fabulous dinner at the Melting Pot. Two of my besties and I drove to wine country and holed up at a fabulous Spa/Inn for the night. Brunch the next morning, massages, and a trip to a little boutique store. Girlfriends are the best.

Post Bday

I took Monday off to extend my birthday and have 'date' day. We dropped the kids at school and ran 10.28 miles. We slurped down iced coffees and Panera afterward and then went carpet shopping all  afternoon. So. Overwhelming.

"MY" Weekend

Abby had gymnastics photos on Friday. Cooper's haircut. My Birthday was on Mother's Day this year. Hubs got off easy BA HA HA HA. Friday was Mother's Day Tea in Aidan's classroom. The gifts they make in school are by far my favorite. I received the cutest framed picture of him along with this book about me/us. It says I like coffee, I have good hair, and the best one, "my mom and I like to massage and tickle" Yikes like I'm some perv. But he does like to have his "tickle tank" filled and loves to have his back rubbed. Actually the best one was "What does your mom always say?" His answer was "Who loves you?" It's a little something we do at night after prayers I say who loves you? He says Jesus and Mommy. I remember the same book when Abby was in Kindy and the mom next to me showing me her book where it says what does your mommy like? The kid put drink wine. You just never know what they are going to say.
Saturday I was up by 5am to get a run in and started cleaning house/laundry. Baseball game at 11 and then more cleaning. Time out so Grandma could take the kids to Target. Hubs surprised me by coming home early from work with flowers and then more cleaning until almost 9pm. I just wanted it done so I didn't have to lift a finger today. We woke up early and went to breakfast, came home Rick mowed the yard while I made waffles for tomorrow and some GF chex mix, had football and then home for a bit. The kids played outside and then we went to dinner. This is my fist birthday at home in 3 years. I've been fortunate enough that we planned all our vacations the past few years in May.
The kids have piano practice every day and turn in a weekly homework sheet to their piano teacher. If they turn it in they get to pick something from the treasure chest. One week Abby apparently picked a necklace. The next week she picked another one. This morning she gave me the sweetest card which made me cry and had wrapped these matching necklaces for us to wear. Talk about resourceful and thinking ahead. I asked Rick if she made them in school, or if he took her shopping or?? He said he didn't have a clue so when I asked her she told me what she did. This child is so amazing. I am in just constant awe.
I took tomorrow off to continue the celebrating. Hubs and I are doing a 10 mile run.
Time to go eat cake!

Surprise!

Monday we took the kids to school and brought lattes and gifts for the kids' teachers since it's Teacher Appreciation Week. Rick and I came home and did 2 loads of laundry, dishes, packing, and I worked from home. Pulled the kids out of school at 11 and surprised them with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. It was fabulous and so fun to spend time together. You almost need 2 nights there- it felt super rushed. It doesn't help I had to jump on the laptop and work as soon as the kids were in bed.
The parents in Abby's class donated $$ and got her teacher a $100 spa card for a pregnancy massage and a $200 gift card to Babies R Us so I left her out of the latte drop off on Monday. Wednesday we are bringing their teachers a cupcake from Sweetest Things, Thursday will be flowers and Friday Godiva chocolates. For their daycare/piano teachers we are bringing movie gifts cards and cupcakes. I tell ya the month of May wipes us out. We have Jessica, My mom, Reilly, Me (yayy), Ashley, 2 of my Girlfriends, my Aunt, Mothers Day AND Teacher Appreciation. It's crazy on the finances.

Sunday Funday

85 degrees! Yes Please! Hit my snooze button so skipped my run today. Had Sunday school duty- only 2 kids in class!!! Came home and made waffles for tomorrow's breakfast, kids' lunches for tomorrow, homemade salsa and put cafe rio chicken in the crockpot. Rushed out the door to get Aidan to football for 2 hours, went to the library after that, Rick dropped Aidan and I off to catch up on his reading homework, he took Abby to the park to play catch and have her hit some balls, I painted her toes when she came home, ironed a few outfits, we ate dinner, Rick mowed, then we took the kids out to ride bikes, and then frozen yogurt.

Photo Dump

Little Man got the game ball. It's amazing the leap in skills from digging in the dirt Tball to coach pitch. Daddy left work early on Wednesday to be at his game so that worked out well. Fabulous salad. Instead of Guy Fieri's Grilled Chicken Tortas I just made it into a salad. Gluten Free that way. We had a busy day today of homework, piano practice, baseball, a birthday party, running errands for some gifts, Aidan's hair cut and laundry. And more laundry. Cooking dinner. Grocery list making. Teacher appreciation card signing. Vacuuming. More laundry.  Loving this sunshine.
