Memorial Day Weekend

Husband worked Saturday so I cleaned out our bonus room that was packed full with garage sale items. I hauled everything down to the garage so we can get ready for our annual sale and did other menial tasks around the house. Sunday we took the kids to the park where it was freezing cold, we went to the garden store and bought hanging baskets and Rick worked again on his front yard project. He's building a wall to level the front yard. Ended the evening with a BBQ at some friend's of ours.

Today we went to Ikea to pick up a few things, I finally framed some of their art for the playroom (that remains unfinished ahem)....

He bought me this 2 years ago (I think) for Mother's Day. I FINALLY made him hang it today

and while he was at it, our Maui windchime

and look who is riding without training wheels. It's wasn't in her plan, but it's been in mine to get those suckers off by the time she turns 7!!!!

We also picked up some pots for our deck, I used a gift cert for a massage, we organized the playroom, sold the swingset, went to dinner and toured Critter Cabana. Loved the puppies!
Back to the grind....

Vacation's All I Ever Wanted....

wait... we just had one. Last Saturday I took the kids to the park and the library. Now that Abby is reading she loves to be in her room with a book. I spent the rest of the day cleaning house from 12:30 until 8:30. I did make dinner in there and do bath time but I got 'er done... even ironing. I wanted to stay up all night and enjoy it before the kids and dog trashed it.

Sunday we had our normal Church service and right after we had Abby's Kindergarten "Graduation" that lasted until 11. The church provides their first 'grown up' bible. There is a letter from our Pastor on one page and parents write a letter on the other and then we pray as a family as we give it to her. After that Rick left to go pick up Arborvitae (we had more trees cut down). The place we bought them only allows you to pick them up on Saturdays or Sundays- he works on Sat so Sunday is our only option. He got them all planted while I took the kids to Abby's gymnastics class.

Monday I had a dentist appt, work and then kids had swim lessons. We used my free dinner coupon for my birthday at Benihana :-)

This is from the restaurant camera- I had to scan it. We still have some Maui tan left :-)

Tuesday night was Abby's music program. Wednesday we celebrated Ashley's birthday! Thursday night was supposed to be Kindy graduation party bring your own picnic type thing at church but Rick worked so I took the kids to meet Grandma at the mall for shopping and dinner. Tonight is grocery shopping bleh! Looking forward to the long weekend- more projects, errands and hopefully SLEEP.

Can't leave him out-

.... is but a distant memory

We went to Maui again and now it seems like we never left. Getting caught up at work, home, errands, appointments and school activities. Next week is utter chaos- we have something going on every night between school, church, swimming etc. My coworker/admin assistant passed away while we were gone. She was my 84yr old 'granny'. She actually fell and broke her hip at work and it just put everything into motion from there. On top of that, this new guy we spent months (and lot of money) to hire, just up at quit yesterday without notice.
A few pictures of the over 400 I took. The visit to the volcano/crater was amazing. We were above the clouds in elevation. It was an unbelievable view. The kids are such great travelers as well.
We had more trees taken out the day after we got home. Rick wants to level our front yard and put up this rock wall thing- so we have a pallet of stone in our driveway and a delivery of rocks coming on Monday. On top of getting this tiny project done we have our annual garage sale in June to prepare for.... the list goes on and on. I miss the palm trees and the beach already.

Happy Mother's Day

Got up at 5am to run because today was an eat-fest. Went to Fat Milo's for breakfast, Abby and I got mani/pedi's, the whole family went to see African Cats and we topped off the evening with to-go dinner from Pastini's.
STELLAR DAY.
