Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We didn't have turkey here!! This year marks the 5th year of not celebrating Thanksgiving ON Thanksgiving. Rick works every year so our my tradition has been to decorate the house/tree and eat a 'normal' dinner for dinner. We have much to be thankful for, even for Rick working, that he has a job to go to, albeit on Thanksgiving. We are feasting tomorrow after I get done with my crack of dawn Black Friday shopping for 1/2 price socks.

Do you have a favorite ornament? This is mine... I buy the kids a new ornament every year to go with the interests they have for that year. Abby is into animals so she picked out a whale at the beach this summer. Aidan picked another train even though he is obsessed with race cars. Anyway, I also pick a new one out each year and I am pretty sure I got this one the year Abby was born. It just reminds me of growing old together.

We have a well-dressed tree. Last year I did it over the span of 3 days. Today I got it done in five hours. Next year I plan on getting a little tree for the kids to put all of their own ornaments on and deocrate themselves.
