Apparently...

Rick wasn't kidding when he said I would be the one getting up with the puppy. I guess breast-feeding two of his babies every 2-3 hours throughout the night for how many months doesn't count for anything? I've survived our first 5 nights with the new pup. Thankfully the past 3 nights Cooper has given me FIVE straight hours of sleep. And yes, in case you are wondering, the question of what have we done did cross my mind, especially after driving to work Friday morning, feeling so tired that I was about to fall asleep at the wheel. I had to roll all the windows down and freeze the kids. On top of me having a cold and feeling crummy all week, no sleep, working full time, ballet, swimming, grocery shopping at 8pm, laundry, ironing, errands, meal planning, meal preparing, getting Abby's bday invites done, and staying up past 10pm for 3 nights to clean the house after the kids go to bed, I had this little fur ball to take care of. I didn't even get a run in all week. So... having complained said all that, I think we are finally in somewhat of a routine and I haven't lost my marbles.
But.....
I wonder if Rick will think I am kidding when I tell him I'm making him egg salad sandwiches ALL next week for his lunch. I'm off to go boil some eggs.

Meet Cooper

With all the work this little flea bag fluff ball brings, he's been a great addition to our family. He's a 10 week old Mini Australian Shepherd. You were getting tired of always seeing pictures of the kids anyway right?

Date Day

Rick and I decided last minute this week to work a half day today and go on a date. This happens maybe three times a year... we're getting better at it. We went to our favorite Indian restaurant, miniature golfing, stopped for ice coffees, got the kids and went grocery shopping as a family.

Island Greens or something? In Tualatin. We had the course to ourselves!!!

Jenkins children and their love for one another

(Turn the sound off on my play list on the bottom of this page)

It's big job...

teaching your little brother about stuff. On the way to school today, Abby holds up her stuffed animal...

Abby: "Aidan, do you think this is a cow?"
Aidan: "Um, yeah"
Abby: "Well, it's not! It's a buffalo. Because it's buffy and called a Lo."

That's right folks. How the Buffalo got it's name.

The Big Guy

that's what his daddy calls him- from day one in the hospital
"My Big Guy." I can't believe he's almost three! Well, sorry to disappoint but not much to blog about- I am still trying to find our 'routine' even though nothing has changed. Abby is back in uniform at school, kids are back in swimming (a little disappointment this term with instructors), ballet, lots of go home memos from their classes, things to remember for show and tell and upcoming school events. Last week I felt completely out of sorts, I think 2 mornings I drove back home just to make sure I closed the garage. One day I forgot my watch, I was out in left field at work, I felt like I had lost my marbles.
Here's to a new week!!!

and in case you lie awake at night wondering where he got those ears...it's from his Mama. Not sure why my mom gave me a little mohawk but hey we're talking about ears not hair. Abby has Ashley's ears- not that I stalk her ears or anything. I haven't had time to stalk Jessica's as much, but Abby's are Jenkins ears. Aidan's are obviously mine, part monkey.
