My husband had 11 days off, worked 3 and now has another 5 days off. I need to get hired there. After our 5am runs we went to church, came home read the paper, and I took a nap.... and then we started this little project

Tooth Fairy
She lost her 2nd tooth yesterday. I got her settled into bed with her tooth safely tucked into her tooth fairy tin box under her pillow. Rick and I were on our computers and then we finished a movie and read the paper. I decide the tooth fairy should visit before I forget so I go into her room, reach under her pillow and what I pull out is the bottom part of the tin. The top is missing and the tooth is missing. I feel around for a bit and nothing so I assume she is playing some sort of joke on the tooth fairy or was playing with it and feel asleep part way through, or she lost it and didn't want to tell me?? I go back to our room to enlist the help of Rick. We turn on her light peel back her covers and he finds the top part of the box but no tooth. I roll her over from side to side to see if anything is under her or falls out and Rick says, well, the tooth fairy just won't visit. Before I concede, I just wake her up. "Abby." silence. A little louder "Abby." Eyes open just a little. "Abby where is your tooth?" showing her the half empty tin. "I don't know" she says and goes back to sleep. I'm not giving up. "Abby where is your tooth?" "I was hungry" she says with her eyes rolling back. Rick starts busting a gut while I am still determined to find the tooth. I wake her up again, "ABIGAIL, WHERE IS YOUR TOOTH?" and finally with her eyes closed she lifts her hand and points over her bed rail "I threw it down there."
SHE. THREW. IT. ON. THE. FLOOR. Who does this??????
She comes flying in my bed at 6:40 this morning with money from the tooth fairy and no recollection of what happened last night. At least she didn't eat it.

Annual Bend/Eagle Crest Adventure
We crammed a lot in a few days... few shops in Sisters, swimming, dinner with friends, usual visit to Goody's, Drake Park, playground, bike riding, Rick golfed, I napped, more swimming, ice cream, more bikes, more playground, more bikes, more swimming. Matthew Fox also moved to Bend so I kept my eye out for him but no luck.

It's all in the hips....
He used to lay like this when he was a puppy and I thought ok it's because he's still a baby and growing that he is this flexible. But nope... he still loves to lay like this. Looks painful to me.
A few months ago Abby took a sharpie to Cooper. This time it was a green pen- you can sorta see the line up his beak (as she calls it)
Zoo visit!

Run Forest Run
We ran 10.24 miles today. Minivan is in the shop costing us a small fortune of $457. Rick is on vacation this week which equals one less lunch I have to make which means I get some benefit out of it as well. He's finishing the big pressure washing project so we can restain the deck/fence and I use the term we very very loosely here.... as in, I will watch????
We have a trip to Bend coming up. Friday I took off so we can take the kids to the zoo and Saturday we are going to try Slappycakes.
Also for your enjoyment is Aidan's video- turn the sound off on the play list at the bottom.

A day of rest productivity
Sunday's normally consist of 5am runs, church, and maybe the farmer's market or an errand and then we are loafs. Truly taking a day of rest- as in I will be on the couch napping. This explains why we have 15.2 unfinished projects. Today, however, I felt compelled to dive into my house cleaning chores because after working all day and/or swim lessons/dinner etc. it's just HARD to clean the house during the week, get to bed at a decent hour and still try to run at 5am. It used to be my brillant idea- get it done during the week so I could have the weekends to just do as I please but hey it's good to mix it up a bit so I cleaned the ENTIRE house today.
Wednesday Rick and I went on a run together and ran 8.72 miles. Our orignial goal was 8 and as we were going I said let's try 10 and he said his knee was hurting so it was somewhat of a compromise. I couldn't walk for 24 hours let alone get out of a chair. We are both running our very first Half Marathon on 9/19 barring any illnesses on our part or the kids- because it is, afterall, right after school starts.
Here is the difference between girls and boys.... at least in our house. Summer day and she chooses to work in one of her workbooks while....
this child has no interest in learning. no colors, no letters. nothing. Just race cars.
he did finally learn to pedal though. but he can't stop.
My co-workers son enters all these contest/giveaway things and he won Rock Band and gave it to us...free. I gave him a little something though for his generosity. They are way too young for it and Rick had a hard time as well but the trial run let me finish getting the upstairs clean.
